FLIGHTS, arrival at International Airport in Porto Alegre and transfer to Santa Cruz do Sul

Participants coming from abroad by air transport should opt for the final destination in Brazil in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul State, 150 km from Santa Cruz do Sul (approximately two hours).

For the greater safety and comfort of the participants, a team designated by the Organizing Committee will be welcoming participants at the arrivals area at the Salgado Filho International Airport on October 21 (Saturday) and on Sunday 22. All will be taken to a comfortable VIP room to wait until the scheduled shuttle departure time to Santa Cruz do Sul, which will be provided by the Organizing Committee at different times to be communicated closer to the time.

Those interested can opt for this service in the registration form for a special price that will also entitle them to the return from Santa Cruz do Sul to the airport in Porto Alegre after the event, on October 27.

For those who do not opt for this facility and prefer private transportation, we suggest contacting the Organizing Committee through the above channels, or requesting information from the reception team at the Airport.

 

HOTELS

To ensure that accommodation is available for participants, the Organizing Committee has block booked rooms in four hotels in the central area of Santa Cruz do Sul. All have quality rooms and special rates that include breakfast. The "Hotels" page on this site offers information about the reserved hotels, and the contact details to obtain information about rates and accommodation facilities. Reservations are to be made directly through the email links provided, and mentioning the code "CORESTA AP2017" you will receive the reduced conference price obtained by de Organizing Committee.

 

CONFERENCE VENUE

The CORESTA Agro-Phyto Joint Study Groups Meeting 2017 will be held at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), about 3 to 5 km from the proposed hotels. The presentations will take place in the Central Auditorium. The poster session will be in a location to be specially set up for this purpose. Coffee breaks and lunches will be offered in the surroundings of the Central Auditorium, all with ample open spaces for smokers.

For more comfort and safety, the Organizing Committee will also provide free transportation from the hotels to the University and return to hotels in the late afternoon. The same service will also be available for travel to the social events in the evenings.

 

REGISTRATIONS

To register quickly and securely, interested parties should access the specific link on this site. Participants must complete the registration form, in which they can also indicate the option of the shuttle service that is offered by the Organizing Committee (Porto Alegre / Santa Cruz do Sul / Porto Alegre). Information about accompanying persons (when applicable) should also be filled in the form. At the end of the form, the participant will be asked to make payment by credit card via a secure connection, and will shortly afterwards receive an email confirmation of registration and payment.

REGISTRATION DESK AND DELEGATE BAGS

The Organizing Committee will have a team available at the SindiTabaco headquarters to welcome the participants, to confirm their registration and to deliver the event handouts. This team will be available on October 21 (Saturday) from 14:00 to 17:00, and on Sunday 22, from 9:00 to 17:00.

 

SUB-GROUP AND TASK FORCE MEETINGS

The Sub-Group and Task Force Meetings will be held in rooms reserved at the Aquarius Flat Hotel, according times to be confirmed in due course.

 

PROGRAM FOR ACCOMPANYING PERSONS

A special program is being arranged for the accompanying persons so that they can enjoy the typical aspects available in our region and state. Visits to the city sights, a typical German colonial coffee, rhythm classes, beauty salon and spa, are some of the attractions that will be offered. Also on offer will be an excursion to the wineries of the Serra Gaucha Region (Mountain Region), with the option of a ride on a "Maria Fumaça" train (steam train). Participation in the lunches at the conference venue and at social events, as well as in the field trip, is also guaranteed for the accompanying persons at no extra charge.

 

SOCIAL EVENTS

In addition to the technical and scientific programme, which is the main purpose of the CORESTA AP2017 Meeting, the Organizing Committee is also focused on treating participants to enjoyable moments of rest and relaxation.

Welcome Dinner - with the purpose of welcoming all the participants and accompanying persons, a reception will be offered on Sunday night in the charming Santa Cruz Country Club, located in a place of rare beauty and offering a spectacular panoramic view of the city. Tasty snacks and drinks, as well as good Brazilian music, will introduce the friendly Brazilian atmosphere to everyone.

Gaucho’s Night – Tuesday evening will be unforgettable. A showcase of Rio Grande do Sul's culture and tradition will enchant all with artistic performances, dance and regional music, accompanied by the refreshing “caipirinhas” and the savory barbecue roasted in the open air.

Gala Dinner - on Thursday night, the Santa Cruz Country Club will once again be the stage for a special dinner, with an exclusive menu, great drinks and a musical show, making the closing event of the CORESTA AP2017 Meeting a particularly memorable occasion.
